We concocted the idea for the Mind Your Own Business conference in 1998, and partnered with HOW for a great run from the first one in 2000 all the way through 2007, during which we managed the programming for the conference and introduced ideas like breakfast roundtables, diving in deeper, the live review, etc. It was all designed to create the first true business conference for smaller marketing firms, and it was successful.
That conference served its purpose introducing the concept and setting many firms on the right path, but we decided to not renew our contract moving forward. We're going to take a little time off, but look for an entirely new conference in 2009: Santo Poco.
The conference name comes from the name of a town in the 1986 movie called Three Amigos. The translation of that phrase will give you a sense of the new conference, probably.
It'll be substantive, for serious firms who've already achieved a significant level of success, and it'll be like nothing you've attended (that's a promise). Stay tuned.
